We’re in a production rhythm that seems to work: plan the weekly module, write specific objectives, collect materials, create lectures, shoot 100+ photos & 50+ demo videos, edit videos, edit photos, build webpages, add media, write text, create assignments, shoot the assignment videos, develop Canvas modules, shoot weekly welcome video, develop prep agenda, zoom with GTAs, send weekly announcement to students, and manage student messages throughout. Thank goodness our GTAs are interacting with students and doing much of the grading (four assignments from 80 students each week), otherwise we would be overwhelmed.
Somehow we are fitting in life (barely), and I am stubbornly holding on to my idea of making a photo book about rocks with a painless touch of mineralogy. But I keep seeing biology in everything. Those look like cells in the above photo of ocean jasper (from Madagascar). This may end up being a book about patterns in nature.
