Marathon Week

I’m not going to lie, some weeks kick my butt.  Sometimes my body inflames for no discernible reason, and it decided to act up for three days right in the middle of a busy week.  The good news is that with the flexibility of working at home, Mark and I were able to work intermittently around my medication & resting schedule and we still were able to get things done.

My body definitely lets me know when it has had enough of me: profuse sweating, burst capillaries, swollen joints, shaky handwriting, and a ton of pain.  And I’m finally learning to listen and slow down the pace.  Slow and steady wins the race.

We are repeatedly reminded that we are in a marathon; not a sprint.  Wise words, this past week definitely felt like an endurance event.

When signs of inflammation emerge, like burst capillaries in the eyes, it's time to settle the heck down.
