These are unpredictable times, but thats something Mark and I are used to dealing with on a daily basis. Due to a pair of related inflammatory diseases (polymyalgia rheumatica & giant cell arteritis for those keeping disease bingo cards :); I can be walking, seeing, and thinking fine one hour and lying down with the world spinning around me the next. It is similar to the experiences of long-term covid, also with a viral origin. On the spin-y days, it is the perfect time to plan ahead instead of running around shooting videos.
We start with notes scratched on paper, and then transcribe them to worksheets, organizing the week into webpages with specific learning objectives. Next we make video shoot lists for the next few days. This planning process takes about 4-5 hours but enables us to develop a narrative to provide students with a clear path through the week.
O.K. Feeling a bit better, let’s shoot some videos :).
