Vintage Beauty
One of the true pleasures of teaching remotely has been integrating more of our personal collections into the course. I am a bit obsessed with finding beautiful science art on eBay: vintage posters, antique microscope slides, & odd models. Some of them have made it into window displays Mark and I have assembled around campus over the past several years. Others have been waiting to be photographed for my still-in-the-works book on using diverse objects to learn science.
Now, since we are shooting videos right next to my “natural history” cargo container, it has been an incredible opportunity to add museum-quality pieces into a general biology course.
