Meet the Menagerie

Somehow we now have thousands of little animals living with us, and many large ones too.  Nothing is more calming than the purr of a guinea pig or the tiny footsteps of a millipede.

Cammy

Our oldest male peacock day gecko, the week we adopted him. He’s still just as stunning, but has filled out a bit.

Sebastian & Mortimer

Two male guinea pigs that are about a year old. They are almost impossible to video because they love to chew on the phone.

Unnamed Millipede

We have several millipedes of different species, all from North America. The feeling of the hundreds of feet on the skin is amazing. Some release a caustic predator deterrent, so you always wash hands after handling.

Unnamed Hornworms

We almost always have a hornworm larva or two around. They pretty much eat all the time, and are incredible to watch.

Tanjiro

One of our two Bengal cat boys. Tanji is a brown spotted form, and brother to Uschi.

Uschi-Swirl

Tanji’s brother, Uschi is a marbled Bengal cat.

Phoenix

This is one of our six Betta males, each in their own tank with wild-type guppies and plenty of plants for company.

Unnamed Mealworm Beetles

Beetles are an obsession, we have multigenerational colonies of several species.
