About this Guide
Beaver Believer
These are challenging days for so many people, and sometimes it is hard to find the silver linings in this cloudy time. For me, it has to be how incredibly friendly and responsible everyone has been in this course; hundreds of people making things work with positive and supportive attitudes. If we do our best work possible, it feels like we are trying to honor the sacrifices, willing and unwilling, of so many people around the world. I am more proud than ever to be an OSU Beaver.

Extra Cardiovascular Demos
We’ve been trying to find different ways to model blood circulation. Since effective learning is engaging (educational and entertaining), why not a game?
Many people learn well by making and using models. An option is to use a puzzle to teach about blood circulation. Fun and challenging!
Not every model works, but it can still teach the concepts. This shows the construction and demonstration of a “working” model of blood circulation through the heart.
Another Look at Blood Typing
Build a stronger memory of blood typing with another look at the concept.
Behind-the-Scenes
Every minute of video takes at least a half hour to produce, especially if some assembly is required :).

Fun Teaching
First Aid for Life
I’ve only had to use “significant” first aid procedures on individuals while waiting for an ambulance a dozen or so times in my life. But I was incredibly thankful for first aid training at that point.
If you have not had any first aid training, or it has been a while and you need a refresher, now is the time. Being prepared can save someone’s life and that is one of the biggest gifts we can offer.
A lot of good things happened while making this guide, including the arrival of this box…
This week Mark has been the master of the models. If we need it, or think we may need it, he’s building it. Even the proper ratio of blood components in a test tube. And since this is a sterile never-used test tube, they are edible too!
Even with plenty of grass bribery to keep them quiet, you can sometimes still hear Sebastian & Mortimer purring, squeaking, and chewing on their water bottle. Nothing is as mesmerizing as watching guinea pigs munch on grass.
