Disease Literacy<\/strong> is having sufficient conceptual knowledge and skills to understand basics and learn more when faced with addressing a disease.\u00a0 This can be especially useful in facing a disease personally, assisting someone else, or making broader decisions related to public policy.<\/p>\n

Note: medical professionals have access to data bases (like local disease occurrences) and knowledge to apply that information to individual cases.\u00a0 If you have any medical concerns, consider gaining the perspective of a trained professional.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n

  1. Cancers of Reproductive Organs<\/strong>: Provide examples of four reproductive organ cancers, including (a) where they occur in the body; (b) ways each cancers is detected; and (c) general treatment options for reproductive cancers.<\/li>\n
  2. Diabetes Types I and II<\/strong>:\u00a0 (a) Distinguish between type I, type II, and gestational diabetes, (b) list potential risk factors for diabetes; and (c) describe the impact of diabetes on organs throughout the body.<\/li>\n
  3.
